Properly designed buildings that consider all the user and owner requirements are essential to a developing country. We believe in improving access to such infrastructure in communities, which will result in economic growth, increased opportunities and a better quality of life for all.
At HHO, we have experience in planning, design, project management, and the construction and maintenance of a wide variety of structural engineering projects. The scale of project ranges from the provision of low-cost housing to sophisticated buildings, industrial structures and tourist facilities.
We have vast experience in working in multidisciplinary teams with architects, developers, planners and other specialists.
Notable projects include the award-winning upgrade of Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, as well as the world class Nelson Mandela Museum in the Eastern Cape. The reconstruction of the Sea Point swimming pool is a local project that has earned us much acclaim.
HHO designed the new upper and lower cableway stations in 1996 and has subsequently undertaken structural assessments and facilitated upgrades to the buildings, walkways and access road. Our 3D modelling of the upper station has allowed for improvements to the visitor access routes.
HHO has been involved in several Wind Farm developments in conjunction with partner contractors. Our contributions include the design and construction supervision of the foundation works as well as the access and drainage works, all designed and verified to the highest international review standards.
HHO completed the structural engineering design of a new 7000m2 factory for the automotive industry. The 12m clearance allowed for a 30 ton crane and the concrete floor structure included a 4.5m deep machine pit. All structural design was done in 3D modelling software.
