As one of the first bus rapid transit systems in Africa, the Rea Vaya bus system kicked into operation in 2010 and has since seen a massive expansion across the greater Johannesburg area. Meaning 'We are going' in Scamto, the Rea Vaya bus rapid transit system links the Johannesburg CBD to Braamfontein and Soweto with current expansion projects planned which will link Sandton, Rosebank and Midrand.

Century City Square, the new all-green commercial and hospitality hub of Century City, received the prestigious SAPOA Property Development Award for Innovative Excellence in the mixed use category at the 2017 SAPOA Convention in Cape Town on Thursday, 22 June 2017. The R1 billion development has also been awarded a 4-Star Green Star – Custom Mixed Use Design rating by the Green Building Council of South Africa. It was the first development in the Western Cape to be awarded this rating and only the second in the country. hho congratulates our client, Rabie Property Group, and is proud to be part of the team that delivered this project.
In August HHO was proud to receive a CESA AON 2016 Engineering Excellence Commendation for the MyCiTi Station and facilities at Century City. Corobrik ILASA Award of Excellence for Blaawberg Road MyCiti Project (In association with Planning Partners)
The Cederberg Nature Reserve Project is a R20 million investment by the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) into an upgrade of the Algeria Campsite, operated by Cape Nature in the Cederberg Wilderness Area. At the Annual SAICE SAFCEC Awards 2015, held at the Bay Hotel on 8 October 2015, this project walked away with the National Award for Environmental Engineering.
Makotsene Makgalemele was announced winner of the CESA Young Engineer of the Year 2014 at a gala event in Midrand. Her award recognises an outstanding performance in technical and educational performance, as well as her contribution to sustainable development, social responsibilities and her involvement in the community.
SAICE Western Cape Regional Award for Excellence in Civil Engineering for the MyCiTi BRT System The Blaauwberg and Potsdam Roads Integrated Rapid Transit (IRT) Project was presented with the 2014 SAICE Regional Award for Technical Excellence in Civil Engineering at the Western Cape Branch Annual Dinner held at Kelvin Grove on 7 October 2014. The Award adds to the growing list of accolades HHO Africa and the MyCITI team have received for the Atlantis Corridor 'MyCITI' IRT System. HHO, in partnership with its client, the City of Cape Town, and a large team of sub-consultants, have been instrumental in developing a world-class public transport network along the Atlantis Corridor since first appointed in 2007. Receiving the SAICE Regional Award for Technical Excellence, HHO were joined by the City of Cape Town, our client and Martin & East, the contractor on both projects. The HHO MyCITI Team were honoured to also receive the SAICE Lidwala Transportation Division Award for 2014, for the Blaauwberg and Potsdam Roads Integrated Rapid Transit (IRT) Project. This award is further recognition of the massive team effort by the City of Cape Town, the multi-disciplinary team of consultants and the contractor, Martin & East to bringing quality public transport to Cape Town.
